Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier did not have a great 2010.  He lost the starting position to Denard Robinson, found himself caught up in some academic issues, and recently was not even confirmed as a member of the team by new head coach Brady Hoke.  Mike Forcier, Tate's father, recently reached out to the media to try and clear up the situation.  With the reports that Forcier was not enrolled in classes this semester, many assumed that the quarterback was planning to transfer.  His father says otherwise.

"Tate wants to stay (at U-M)," Mike Forcier told TheWolverine. "I didn't come with a moving van. Our intent is to do whatever is necessary for him to rejoin the team and become a student-athlete again. We haven't talked to any other schools and we won't until we've exhausted every resource here. But Tate wants to stay and we want him to stay."

Forcier's future in Ann Arbor is murky, but if the sophomore from San Diego is able to make his way back onto the field the Wolverines will be in a much better position in 2011.  If Robinson returns, new coach Brady Hoke could re-open starting competition between the quarterbacks.  It would be a chance for Forcier to new his career, even if it was in a splitting-snap scenario with Robinson.

I know that Forcier is small at 6'0 and not very big at 185 pds. That in his one season of playin for Michigan he had only 13 tds and 10 picks. Wilson had 4 tds in one game. I also know he problems with his academics which caused him to miss the Gator bowl.

I think your comments obviously come more from being Ark fans than actually knowing anything about Forcier.

Agree w/KC Penguin.......... I'm a huge ARK fan & we'll have not only Wilson coming in next yr, but another QB in the wings who is supposed to be unreal.  Mallett said himself this week that Tyler Wilson is no shoo-in for the starting job & that it'll be a battle this spring.

This isnt High school for one and im not saying he lacks arm strength. I think he lacks the arm accuracy to thread the needle on some routes. Mainly i just dont think he could come in and take the job from Wilson honestly.

Princess Forcier should turn in his pads and helmet and pursue his dream of becoming a professional figure skater.

Not sure why you would think that Forcier doesn't have the arm to run any type of offense. He's a much better passing type QB than he is a runner. In fact, he actually led the nation is passing efficiency his Junior year in high school. He's not lacking in arm strength either. The only reason he lost his starting job to Denard Robinson is because of the type of offense that Rich Rodriguez wanted.

First off Arkansas has a great qb in the waiting. Look up the Arkansas Auburn game were Arkansas's backup wilson came in and had like i think 13 straight completions. He also threw 4 tds in that game when mallet went down. Besides Forcier would not fit in Arkansas offense and doesnt have the arm to run it.

Well, the QB job @ Arkansas is available!  Maybe Petrino should go to the well one more time.
