UPDATE: LSU as made it official, announcing on Twitter that Miles will be staying in Baton Rouge

I never really believed that Michigan had a shot to get Les Miles to leave LSU, but I have to admit that over the last few days, I changed my mind.  Miles was giving vague answers to questions by reporters, those Michigan planes were in Dallas and Baton Rouge, and he was spending a whole lot of time talking to the school.  Of course, I should have known that as soon as I changed my mind and thought he was headed to Ann Arbor that there was no shot.

And it seems there's no shot.  According to various reports, Les Miles will be staying at LSU.

The school issued a release last night saying that it was prepared to do whatever it had to in order to keep Miles in LSU, and it seems that they have.  Considering the amount of time that Michigan spent with Miles over the last few days, you have to think that the school made an offer, and that Miles turned it down.  That or he let LSU know what Michigan was offering and LSU decided to match or surpass it.

We'll likely find out more in the coming days.

As for where Michigan goes from here, nobody knows for sure.  However, if you're Brady Hoke, you have to have a smile on your face right now.

The kid was arrested but wasn't convicted.  That means he is innocent.  But if he gets into anymore trouble, like Perilloux, Miles will boot him pretty quickly.

skreffty, LOLOLOL!!! The SEC is as clean as it gets? Wow, apparently you don't watch much football. Even if LSU is supposedly "squeaky clean" like you say, it's only because they haven't been caught yet.

Truth be told, all the big programs cheat, just that the SEC is professional at it or remembers to pay off the NCAA to look the other way.

Cam Newton, anyone? LOL!!!

Dude, how about learning to read?  I said LSU is as clean as it gets, not the SEC.  Who are you with those reading skills - Katzenmoyer?  LOL indeed.  It is amazing how many in America are illiterate.

skreffty,

I actually do hope LSU is clean.  I for one am tired of all the scandals and cheating that leads to awards and championships being stripped.  Of course with all the money and pressure to win from fans, boosters and school officials, it's tough to win it all and be 100% clean.  Just glad the whole coach issue is decided, good luck to Les, here's to hoping Brady gets a chance to unbungle the RR mess.

Les Miles no doubt would've brought NCAA violations to the Michigan program at some point. After all, he is an SEC coach, the bastion of lowlife cheaters. Why would he come to a program like MU when he can cheat and get away with it in the SEC, all the while staying warmer too?

Here's hoping Michigan will continue to suffer for years to come, it would serve their arrogant jerk fans right to have to eat some more humble pie, although no doubt they still see their program as one of the best ever. How's that pasting by Miss State tasting today, Wolverines?
LSU is as clean as it gets.  Take a look in the mirror Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan basketball, etc. on the cheating question.  Remember the NCAA loves the Big-10 and hates the SEC, so remember who gets all the scrutiny.  "Bastion of lowlife cheaters" - no lol, you must have the SEC confused with the Big-10 or Pac-10...when SEC players get suspended they don't get to play in bowl games.

I hope it lasts skreffty.

Last month, Miles signed coveted 6-foot-5, 230-pound junior college transfer quarterback , a former top recruit who was dismissed by the Bulldogs because of legal trouble.
