Big Ten divisions inspire unfortunate new shirt

Yesterday, the Big Ten announced that its divisions were to be named (sigh) "Legends" and "Leaders," meeting nearly universal scorn and derision. There was also a new logo that wasn't very well received and 18 new postseason trophies, but those took a backseat to Legends and Leaders.

This type of empty boasting is nothing new to human nature, of course, and between things like the Washington Monument, the 25.5-inch neck of a Fender Stratocaster, and sending ballistic rockets flying toward their enemies, men often employ unsubtle boasts of a, shall we say, "overcompensating" nature.

That, then, is where we introduce this t-shirt, which cannot be inserted into this blog for reasons that will be immediately apparent upon sight. Yep. You, too, can be a leader where it counts and a legend where it counts with this shirt. Or, more accurately, you can tell people that you're each of those. From our experience, though, if you're really a "legend," you'll never have to do an ounce of advertising to that effect. Word of mouth, y'know?

Also, luckily, there is absolutely no way the term "Big Ten" can be used to make any similar juvenile reference. Nope. Not at all.

They're silly people making major decision's

I feel sorry for Nebraska, they lose their long rivals (which they dominated for eight decades, helping them get to 800+ wins), they have by far the worse schedule (done on purpose for the network to get even more money from new TV Deals). Everyone wants to play Nebraska cause their Big and new, and now they have to put up with the silly names.
They should change the conference name and to make it prestigious (which is more important to Jim D. than common sense at times) something like the northland conference,  Big North, or "The Greatest Conference in Human History North Central States of America, we have moose's CONFERENCE"
They can be fairly balanced with an East-West, and when they say they're not; Just look at Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa and up and coming Northwestern verses Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and up and down Michigan State.
They could call the divisions..........................

................... East and West!! thats too blue collar for them.
Conference championship in Chicago (in the next 50 years, Chicago will build a Nice new "900,000 million dollar stadium downtown with a retractable roof (which I bet the NFL Mandates all new stadiums be equipped))
Chicago has more Big ten alumni than Indiana(polis), more central and more history and its by far the biggest city....etc. Indianapolis is the best #2 city, and it has an incredible stadium.

I kinda wish they gave the winner of the championship game a trophy named after the conference and not people from the conference because it shows to much favoritism to some programs. Same goes with MVP, and Coach of the Year as well.
this conference I feel is ruining and mocking themselves. With their "desperate at times" clinging to tradition probably will make these moves permanent  because that is the way things are.
The silliness wont stop, they go after Maryland and Rutgers next!! and then Notre Dame, and Missouri, and maybe Kansas, and Virginia? Why stop with Virginia.  Their greed and their silliness needs to change. I bet if change is going to happen it will be initiates by Penn State, "wanting more Eastern Teams" Valid for the program east from everyone.

What do you expect from a Conference that can't count past 10. Guess no one told them if they took off their shoes & socks they could reach 12.

Baritone guitars have longer necks than Stratocasters.  Strats typically only have 22 frets, so any guitar with 24 (or any baritone) would naturally have a longer neck.

I certainly hope the Big ten did not pay a marketing company a lot of money for them to come up with these names to indicate the divisions of their conference. Legends and Leaders is this the very best they could come up with??

They should have had competition between the members marketing and business departments to select the division names. The member colleges would then pass their winning answers to the conference who out of the 12 conference schools would either pull them out of a container or go through some other process to go from the 12 submitting schools to one that was finally selected.

This must be the laughing stock of the college football world.
